Alkham road-rage shooting - man charged with attempted murder

Dover man Paul Smith hands himself in


A man from Dover has been charged with attempted murder after a 'road-rage' shooting in Alkham, Dover, left a motorist critically ill. Paul Smith, also known as Andrew Bywater, handed himself in on Wednesday and appeared in court yesterday.

In the Alkham shooting incident on the 26th October, a 31-year-old man was shot in the stomach during a confrontation between two motorists on the Alkham Valley Road, near Dover. He was rushed to the William Harvey Hospital were his condition was last described as stable.

Mr Smith, from Friars Way, Dover was charged with attempted murder on Thursday after handing himself in on Wednesday. He appeared in court yesterday (Friday 5th November) and has been remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on the 23rd November.
