More NHS dentists on way after huge cash boost

Dental care in Dover and Hawkinge is to get a massive boost after NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent announced £4.5million of extra funding to support NHS dentists in East Kent. The investment will see more dentists opening their doors to NHS patients from September.

The extra funding will go towards dental care in Deal, Chestfield, Whitstable, Faversham, Broadstairs, Cliftonville and Sheppey alongside Dover and Hawkinge and will allow thousands more people to find NHS dentists said the trust.

The trust said the money was in addition to £700,000 already set aside for services in Ashford, Canterbury and Sittingbourne due to start this summer.
