stop at Folkestone

The first new main line steam locomotive built in Britain for almost half a century is to stop at Folkestone next weekend. The Peppercorn A1 Class Tornado will stop at Folkestone West station at approximately 8am on 21st June as it makes its way from London.

The £3m steam locomotive was built over almost 20 years by The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust, a charity whose mission is to build and operate a Peppercorn class A1 Pacific steam locomotive for use on mainline and preserved railways.

The engine will be leaving London Victora at 6pm and will also be stopping at Ramsgate, Deal and Dover.
