One of the main roads across Romney Marsh has been closed this afternoon after a serious accident. The A259 Dymchurch Road near to the Marlie Farm Holiday Village, towards New Romney, is shut in both directions after a collision between a car and a motorbike left the motorcyclist with serious injuries.

A Police spokesperson said the collision took place just after 2pm and Officers had closed Taylor’s Lane, Dymchurch Road, Jefferstone Lane and St Mary’s Road. Local bus services have been informed and vehicles are being turned around by patrols.

The accident comes only days after another accident on the A259, when a 15-year-old girl was knocked down in New Romney High Street.
