A local man has been charged with murder after a woman was stabbed to death in Greatstone, near New Romney, Kent on Friday morning (20th November). Paul Fender, also from Greatstone, has been remanded in custody and is to appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

The woman was identified as Karren Martin by Police yesterday. She was treated by paramedics at the scene in Hardy Road but later died.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Saturday revealed that the 28-year-old died of a single stab wound.
