Guns and ammunition found in lorry at Dover

Guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition have been found in a lorry at Dover. The weapons were found by UK Border Agency officers in a lorry arriving at the port from Calais on Tuesday (10th November).

In total eight hand guns, 200 rounds of ammunition and 9,600 cigarettes were discovered.

A Lithuanian national was arrested and later charged with attempted smuggling. He has been remanded in custody and is to appear at Dover Magistrates Court in December.
