Something special is coming to Romney Marsh and Ashford this Christmas. The stunning steam locomotive Tangmere 34067, hauling vintage 1950s carriages, will be travelling across Romney Marsh as it makes its away from Ashford to Hastings. The ex-Southern Railway Battle of Britain locomotive will make its journey on 22nd December as part of a special Christmas run.

The journey has been organised the Railway Touring Company, with the full trip running from London Victoria, through Maidstone East to Ashford, across the Romney Marshes and Appledore to Hastings before returning back through Sevenoaks to Victoria.

Tangmere leaves Ashford 12.10, arriving in Rye at 1.30pm.
